CMS Chromebooks
NEW THIS YEAR
Before students are given access to the Internet from CMS computers or otherwise allowed to use the CMS network, they must accept the terms of the "Student Internet Use Agreement." This Agreement defines the educational objectives and guidelines for use, informs student users that their online activities are subject to monitoring, and sets forth unacceptable uses that may lead to revocation of access and possible legal action. Parents of students younger than age 18 who do not want their children to use the CMS network and/or to access the Internet at school must notify the school in writing. (S-SINT)

Payment for Damages
Students should report damage, loss, or a stolen device as soon as possible to Ms. McKinstry (JenniferL.McKinstry@cms.k12.nc.us). For stolen devices, a police report must be created and the report number provided to the school.
The student will be provided an invoice for fees assessed. Payment can then be made through Online School Payments or directly to Ms. McKinstry in the front office via cash or check.
Families that cannot pay the fee due to financial hardship (or if the device damage was accidental) can reach out to Ms. Van Lauwe (brianne1.vanlauwe@cms.k12.nc.us) for a copy of theTechnology Hardship Waiver. Families can use the waiver once per school year.
