Cap & Gown Pictures: Our next picture day from CK Visuals (www.ckvisuals.com) is Thursday, January 15th. This will be our last picture session for the year and includes Cap & Gown pictures for our students planning to graduate. Students will also be able to retake pictures from the fall (underclass portraits and Senior formal portraits). Students wishing to participate must sign up for a time using this sign-up sheet at https://www.ckvisuals.com/lmchs.

CPCC Schedule Changes: The last day to change a CPCC class that starts next week will be Tuesday, January 13. For schedule changes on Monday, please see Ms. Van Lauwe. On Tuesday, please see our new CPCC advisor, Ms. O’Herron, between 8:30 AM - 4 PM (go to the front desk at CPCC and ask to meet with her). You can also email Ms. O’Herron at megan.oherron@cpcc.edu.

Winter Formal: Our Winter Formal is on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 7:00 pm - 9:45 pm at Levine’s Tucker Theater. Tickets are $15 per person and may be purchased on OSP: Link to OSP. Guest forms, required for any non-Levine Middle College student planning to attend, are available at this link: Link to Guest Form and due to the main office by Wednesday, January 21, 2026, by 4 pm. The ticket price includes the facility, security, music, and light refreshments. Join us!

Waitlisted for a CPCC Course? If a seat becomes available when you’re at the top of the waitlist, you will receive an email at your CPCC email account letting you know that a spot has opened. You need to log in to your MyCollege account and register for the course within 24 hours. If you don’t register within 24 hours, you’ll be blocked from registering, and the seat will be offered to the next person on the waitlist. Check your CPCC emails at least a couple of times a day to avoid losing your opportunity!

Peer Mentoring: Students interested in serving as peer mentors to new students accepted for the 2026-27 school year and/or as a peer leader for Sources of Strength should attend an info session on Tuesday, January 13, during lunch (12:25-12:45) in LV1237. Interested students should submit an interest form by the end of the day on Tuesday, January 13. Please see Ms. Van Lauwe with any questions if you are unable to attend the meeting.

Infinite Campus Parent Portal: ALL students must have at least one parent/guardian who downloads and registers for the portal. Directions for parents are available in English and Spanish. Report Cards will only be available through the portal this year. If you need assistance, please call the office and ask for our Data Manager, Ms. Tyson.

Girls Who Code’s Pathways Summer Program: Applications are open for this seven-week free, flexible, online learning opportunity for high school girls and non-binary students who want to learn coding. Learn more here:  Girls Who Code Pathways.

Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship: This is a need-based scholarship of up to $40,000 for high school seniors in STEM. Applications are due January 15.

ACT Prep Resources: Start preparing for the ACT with free practice materials:

• Full-length practice tests in your MyACT account.
• QuizMe is a fun and engaging gaming experience with practice ACT test questions in a quiz format.

College Acceptances and Scholarships: Please notify Ms. Van Lauwe of any college acceptances using this form: College Acceptance Form. As you receive scholarship offers, please send a screenshot of the offer (including scholarship name and amount) to brianne1.vanlauwe@cms.k12.nc.us, even if you do not plan to accept the scholarship. CMS requires us to keep documentation of all scholarship offers.
