Thanksgiving Holiday: Wednesday, 11/26/25, is a regularly scheduled teacher workday on the CMS Early/Middle College calendar (no CMS classes). However, CPCC will be in session on this day. Both CMS and CPCC will be closed Thursday and Friday, 11/27/25 and 11/28/25, for the Thanksgiving Holiday. The coffee shop and sandwich shop will be closed all week.

A message from our Parent Organization: This is a great time of year to show appreciation to all the teachers and staff at our amazing school. We will collect contributions until 12/12 through Venmo @LMCHS-PTO (please include your child's name in the payment) or cash in an envelope labeled PTO, along with your child's name, and handed directly to Ms. McKinstry in the front office. All funds collected will be distributed among the staff in gift cards and future staff appreciation events (food and/or gifts). Email Levinemchspto@gmail.com with any questions. Chromebook Audit: CMS Schools are required to perform a mid-year technology audit. We ask all students to help us with this by completing this very short form at https://Bit.ly/CMSChromebookAudit. Please complete the form even if you do not have a CMS-issued Chromebook. LMCHS Can Food Drive: Please consider donating to the 2025 Can Food Drive. Our SGA is collecting cans to donate to our local food pantry. The class with the most cans collected wins a pizza party! Who will win? The Junior class or the Senior class? Donate your cans and find out!

CMS Lottery: The CMS Choice Lottery is open! Please help spread the word about our amazing school. Rising 11th and 12th grade students residing in Mecklenburg County are eligible. Infinite Campus Parent Portal: ALL students must have at least one parent/guardian who downloads and registers for the portal. Directions for parents are available in English and Spanish. Report Cards will only be available through the portal this year. If you need assistance, please call the office and ask for our Data Manager, Ms. Tyson.

Cap and Gown: Seniors and Grade 13 students, it's time to order your Cap & Gowns, Graduation Announcements, and Senior 2026 gear from Jostens! LMCHS Chick-Fil-A Leader Academy: We are collecting books, toys, and board games for children ages 2-12 for our "Do Good December" event and provide a holiday gift for those families in need of providing joy during the season. If you would like to help by donating to our service event, please drop your item off in the main office or in Mrs. Tuttle's classroom.

FAFSA Completion: Graduating 12th and 13th grade students who have completed the FAFSA can stop by the front office, show proof of completion, and receive a candy bar! Limited to the first 60 students.

College Acceptances and Scholarships: It’s time to start updating our college acceptance board for the Class of 2026! Please notify Ms. Van Lauwe of any college acceptances using this form. As you receive scholarship offers, please send a screenshot of the offer (including scholarship name and amount) to brianne1.vanlauwe@cms.k12.nc.us, even if you do not plan to accept the scholarship. CMS requires us to keep documentation of all scholarship offers.

Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship: This scholarship helps students interested in computer science with the support of up to $40,000 in college funding and internship opportunities at Amazon. The deadline to apply is January 15.
